Many girls, like my daughter, love the line of Disney Princess merchandise. I can understand that fondness, as I grew up in the age of Jasmine, Belle, and Ariel. However, unlike that era, young girls today can find costumes and accessories featuring their favorite princess on the internet that they can enjoy for dress up, birthday parties, or Halloween.

When I was 8, my grandmother crafted me a Little Mermaid costume out of a sheet, a worn out party dress, and some lace. I’ll quite relieved that I can simply purchase a toddler Ariel costume for my little girl rather than spending a lot of time at a sewing machine. I love the fact that there are now Ariel costumes for adults as well – my daughter and I could dress alike for Halloween. What will they think of next?!
